Statement on Death of Osama bin Laden

Statement

Date: May 2, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

"President Obama made it one of his priorities to capture or kill the man who brought so much sorrow and tragedy to our country. I am proud of and grateful to the brave special operation forces who executed this mission with no American casualties. President Obama deserves great credit for giving the authority to proceed with this successful mission in ending the terrorist reign of the mass murderer Osama bin Laden."

"We must remember the families of those who lost loved ones in the 9-11 attack. My thoughts are with everyone who has suffered through the years since the evil attacks that were made on innocent people on 9-11."

We must also remember to be vigilant and to be alert for possible retaliation by Al Qaeda and their affiliates throughout the world. We know very well that this is a real possibility for attacks on the USA or in other places in the world."

"I will continue to do all that I can here in the U.S. Congress to support the fight against terrorism around the world and to keep our great nation safe."

"God bless America and God bless our courageous troops who protect us every day."
