CONGRESSMAN YOUNG INTRODUCES LEGISLATION CALLING FOR THE PLACEMENT OF AN ARTISTIC TRIBUTE COMMEMORATING PRESIDENT REAGANS BRADENBURG GATE SPEECH IN THE CAPITOL

Alaska Congressman Don Young today introduced a Concurrent Resolution calling for the placement of an "artistic tribute" commemorating President Reagan's Brandenburg Gate Speech ("Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall...") in the Capitol building.

"As a Republican I respect Former President Reagan for many reasons, some of them partisan; but as an American I believe his unwavering opposition to tyranny and support for liberty - liberty for both individuals and nations - are perhaps his greatest contribution to our society. The Berlin speech serves nicely as a representation of that contribution," said Congressman Young.
