Today, Sen. Rob Portman (Ohio) introduced the official Senate Republican Jobs Plan, a blueprint developed to create private-sector growth and strengthen the economy. One of the provisions in the plan calls for passage of the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act, or REINS Act, which was originally introduced by Sen. Rand Paul in the Senate and by fellow Kentuckian Congressman Geoff Davis in the House of Representatives earlier this year.
"Holding government accountable to an open regulatory process is an important step in creating job growth in America," Sen. Paul said. "I commend Sen. Portman for including this provision in the Senate Jobs Plan to lift the burden of regulatory red tape currently affecting many American businesses."
