Senator Coon Applauds Delware House for Passage of Civil Unions Bill

U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) today applauded the Delaware House's passage of SB 30 -- a bill that would make same-sex couples in Delaware eligible for civil union status.

"This principled step forward for Delaware is long overdue. Equality is a central part of what it means to be an American and it is incumbent on all of us to be working toward building a Delaware that treats all of its citizens equally, regardless of who they love. I congratulate the General Assembly on passing SB 30 and look forward to Governor Markell adding his signature to this measure."
