Luetkemeyer Continues Support for Life, Votes to Defund Planned Parenthood

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) issued the following statement after voting to defund Planned Parenthood. H.Con.Res. 36, a sidebar resolution considered separate from the underlying bill that would fund the government through the rest of Fiscal Year 2011, would defund Planned Parenthood.

"Life is a precious gift that deserves to be treated with the highest dignity and respect, and that is why I have spent my career fighting to protect the rights of the unborn. I firmly believe that few things violate the sanctity of human life more than the practice of abortion. Rest assured, I will continue to fight for the rights of the unborn and will support pro-life policies."
