Washington, D.C. - Congressman Ernest Istook (R-OK) offered the following comments in response to U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft's warnings today about possible terrorist attacks in the coming months:
"The Administration is doing the right thing, providing the public with specific information, and recruiting all of us to help prevent a terrorist strike. We can hope to thwart terrorists only when everyone accepts responsibility. This announcement also shows how we've improved information gathering, sharing and analysis since 9/11. It's a great challenge to secure our huge country against terrorists who want another massive strike because they hate America and because they want to influence our elections."
