Congressman Pascrell Pledges Congressional Support Following Governor Christie's Request for a Presidential Declaration of Flood Disaster

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8) today released the following statement following N.J. Governor Christie' s request for a declaration of a flood disaster following last month's storms.

"I appreciate Governor Christie's action in asking federal authorities for the declaration of a disaster," said U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, who toured flooded areas in the Eighth Congressional District and reinforced the Governor's request by writing President Obama on March 11 to urge for the declaration. "I promise quick responsiveness from the state's Congressional delegation to support to the governor's action, and to continue to work toward long-term solutions to help keep local residents out of harm's way during any future flooding events."
