Congressman Spencer Bachus (AL-6) issued the following statement on the one-year "anniversary" of the adoption of the new health care law, also known as Obamacare.
"America has the best health care in the world, and turning it over to the government to run will raise costs and lower quality. It will increase costs to the State of Alabama alone by $865 million and place yet another heavy burden on taxpayers. While we need to fix problems in the system, people should not lose their right to choose their own doctors or be forced into giving up private insurance that they like. As a result, I have voted for the repeal of Obamacare and believe we should work instead on common sense solutions that don't put the federal government in charge of everything."
