Every West Virginian should have access to a fair and just legal system. Sometimes bad things happen to good people and seeking legal recourse is the only option available. But frankly, things have gotten out of hand. According to the Institute For Legal Reform, West Virginia currently ranks last in the nation when it comes to the fairness of its litigation system. This simply cannot continue. I strongly support the Tort Reform legislation that my Republican colleagues and I have introduced in the State Legislature. Without these reforms, businesses, medical professionals, and other lucrative industries will not locate here, and this will limit the opportunities available for our current workforce and future generations. As governor, I will make this a priority.
