Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL) has been appointed to serve on the Budget and Spending Task Force for the Republican Study Committee (RSC) by Task Force Chairman Congressman Scott Garrett (R-NJ).
"I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues in Congress and on the Republican Study Committee to stop out-of-control spending and help restore fiscal sanity to our country," said Brooks. "Our deficit is an unsustainable and growing threat to America. According to the White House, this year's deficit is already projected to be $1.6 trillion; if we do not make deep and lasting changes to spending, our nation will face bankruptcy."
The Task Force will work on drafting the Republican Study Committee FY 2012 budget and provide recommendations to the RSC about areas where government spending can be reduced.
