Issue Position

I believe that every child deserves access to a quality education that allows them to become successful and active members of their community and our society. Massachusetts has a long history of being a leader in elementary and secondary education as well as higher education. We should focus on policies that increase accountability and hold our schools, teachers, and administrators to the highest standards so that every child has the opportunity to receive the best education possible. I am committed to improving the quality of our nation's public schools and the affordability of our public higher education system. We must take a hard look at how we fund public schools in this country and control the rapidly escalating costs of higher education. I also support providing students and parents with a choice through the expansion of charter schools.
