Graves Hails Passage of STOP Act

Press Release

Date: Jan. 19, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-9) issued the following statement after voting for the Stop The Over Printing (STOP) Act, which is projected to save taxpayers $7 million by prohibiting unnecessary congressional printing:

"In continuing our efforts to shrink and streamline government, and in keeping our Pledge to America, the Republican-led House passed the STOP Act which ends the wasteful and arcane practice of printing multiple hard copies of the thousands of bills that are introduced in Congress each year.

"By first passing Congressional office budget cuts and now eliminating the costly mass-printing of bills, the House continues to lead the federal government by example. As we begin the process of enacting spending cuts in other departments and agencies, our new Majority remains committed to rooting out every instance of inefficiency or waste we can find, no matter how small or large."
