Mack Applauds Virginia Court Ruling Striking Down Individual Mandate Under ObamaCare

Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) issued the following statement today after a U.S. district judge in Virginia ruled the individual mandate under ObamaCare is unconstitutional.

Mack, who was one of the first Members of Congress to introduce legislation to repeal ObamaCare earlier this year, said:

"Today's ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Henry Hudson in Virginia is great news for all those who believe in freedom and the Constitution. Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution does it state that the federal government can force individuals to purchase something, including health insurance.

"Today's news is a good start, but the fight is far from over. We must continue to stand for freedom from an overreaching government, and advocate for nothing less than a full repeal of this disastrous and unconstitutional law."
