Letter To Todd Hawkins, USPS District Manager

Location: Unknown

October 19, 2010

Mr. Todd Hawkins
USPS District Manager
2200 Orange Ave., Room 210
Cleveland, OH 44101-9993

Dear Mr. Hawkins:

I am writing to urge the United States Postal Service to expedite the reopening of the Flushing, Ohio Post Office. As you are aware, the Flushing Post Office was temporarily closed due to the lease not being renewed. The removal of a permanent post office has caused disruptions in daily mail delivery and pick up.

My office, who has been working with the USPS, has been notified that three parties have shown interest in having a local postal retail operation in their present business. One of these more convenient locations would diminish current postal issues, including the delivery of wrong and damaged mail, and the hours of mail box access. In addition, with the coming of the winter weather, the residents have voiced their concerns regarding access to postal service in Flushing.

As the above circumstance would indicate, I am requesting that the process under way to establish a retail post office in Flushing be expedited at the highest level. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter and I look forward to hearing from you regarding this situation soon.
