DioGuardi Holds Press Conference at Jiffy-Tite

Press Release

Date: Oct. 14, 2010
Location: New York, NY

Joe DioGuardi, Conservative and Republican Party nominee for the U.S. Senate, today took his Guard the American Dream Tour to Jiffy-tite to discuss his plans to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in New York State.

"I have a jobs package for New York. It involves lower taxes, massive cuts to government spending, and a balanced budget in Washington," said DioGuardi. "New York has already had to feel the repercussions of Gillibrand's so-called jobs agenda. Since she voted for the stimulus package, 125,000 New Yorkers have lost their jobs. It is time for change in Washington. It is time to revive the economy. It is time to save the American dream."

Jiffy-tite creates, designs and manufactures quick connect fittings for automobiles. The company was greatly impacted by the financial crisis, forcing the company to restructure and eliminate a production shift, among other things. As a result of the lack of economic recovery, the company has been forced to reduce their workforce from 150 employees in 2008 to 100 employees today.

"It is time for economic recovery in New York," said Steve Zillig, owner of Jiffy-tite. "We need some new ideas. We need some new initiatives. I do believe that necessity breeds innovation. Businesses are doing their best to innovate during this trying time; now, we must make sure that the leaders we send to Washington this November will do the same."
