Issue Position: Budget & Taxes

Issue Position

As a member of the Taxpayer Protection Caucus, Senator Stone believes in limited government and reducing the tax burden on working families in our community. In 2007, he voted against over $1 billion in tax increases. In 2008, he voted to repeal the so-called "tech tax," which would have killed Main Street jobs all over Maryland. Senator Stone has voted for billions of dollars in budget cuts since the last election, helping to ensure that Maryland's operating budget is smaller today than it was at the beginning of this term.
