Griffin: Unemployment rate 'unacceptable,' common sense leadership needed

Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today issued the following statement after the Department of Labor reported the U.S. economy lost 95,000 jobs in the month of September and the unemployment rate remained at 9.6%:

"The loss of nearly 100,000 jobs and an unemployment rate near 10% is unacceptable and illustrates how Congress has failed to eliminate the uncertainty over tax relief, card check and the cap and trade energy tax that is preventing private sector employers from creating the jobs American workers need to lead us to economic prosperity. It is clear that Arkansas voters must elect common sense leadership to Congress in order to be a check and balance against the job-killing, debt-raising agenda of Speaker Pelosi and President Obama."
