Issue Position

I believe that we need:

* a small, fiscally conservative government
* lower taxes
* more private sector jobs

First of all, you and I have to live within our means and our government must do so also. The government needs to start using private sector business principles which include being fiscally responsible and putting money aside for future needs.

Secondly, taxes must be kept low so that our citizens have control of their money to support their families and provide for their futures. Lower taxes provide the incentive for people to be self-sufficient. For some citizens, having more money inspires them use their money to set up a new business.

Finally, the government must ensure a beneficial environment for private sector businesses. This means lower taxes and fewer regulations so private businesses can focus on what they do to provide services or products. When these businesses make a profit, they can expand and create more jobs. This is the way to increase tax revenues with more people working and paying taxes.

I will work to make our government smaller and more efficient by cutting expenses and taxes. I want to ensure that the government encourages the growth of private sector businesses by reducing regulations and restrictions on businesses. To show my sincerity with reducing government costs, if I am elected, I will not take a pension for my time in the Senate.
