Issue Position

We owe a great debt to the men and women who fought for our country in defense of freedom and democracy. We must ensure that our veterans receive the highest quality of care and services upon their return home. I have supported measures that will improve not only the quality of care, but also the accessibility to resources such as health care, education, and job assistance. We can never fully repay the men and women who put their lives on the line, but we can do all that we can to see that they are given the thanks they deserve.

In Jacksonville, I worked hard to establish a Veterans Cemetery in Northern Florida to allow our communities' veterans the option of a final resting place close to their homes and families. I was proud to preside over the first Memorial Day ceremony at our new National Cemetery in May 2009 and am eager to continue to fight to provide our veterans with the benefits they deserve.
