"I firmly believe that peace should be the guiding principle in U.S. policy, both foreign and domestic. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Democracy Partnership program, I am committed to fostering a safer world for our children and future generations."

From the time he arrived in the U.S. Congress, Keith has dedicated himself to fostering dialogue, engagement, and non-violent conflict resolution.

House Foreign Affairs Committee & Democracy Partnership

Keith was appointed to serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee in January 2009. During the time of his appointment, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, "I am certain he will do an excellent job with his deep understanding of foreign policy issues and his strong commitment to peace and diplomacy."

Keith's work has taken him abroad to countries such as Sudan, where he met with aid agencies and local communities to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

As a member of the House Democracy Partnership program, Keith works to promote responsive, effective government and strengthen democratic institutions by assisting legislatures in emerging democracies.
