Let's Turn Back the Clocks on ObamaCare

Statement

During this Congressional campaign, I have had the privilege of visiting every corner of the Seventh District, and the vast majority of people whom I've met tell me the same thing: Congress must repeal ObamaCare.

As I reflect on the six month anniversary of ObamaCare becoming the law of the land, over half of American voters remain opposed it. The opposition is even stronger here in Georgia, and I am among those who strongly oppose it. Therefore, I would love to promise that if I am elected to Congress, I will instantly repeal the law, but we all know that is a promise that I alone cannot keep. As long as President Obama is in the White House, any Congressional action to fully repeal ObamaCare is doomed to failure. That does not mean that we must accept the status quo, however. I pledge to work with every member of the House of Representatives, regardless of party affiliation, to immediately repeal what we can and to lay the groundwork over the next two years with the presidential election to repeal what remains.

Most of the country already knows what we in the Seventh District know--that this bill is an assault on our fundamental freedoms and that it does nothing to control health care costs but in fact raises them. We must work to spread this message even further. One voter at the time and one congressman at the time, we will succeed in abolishing this federal power-grab and restoring the primacy of the doctor-patient relationship.

Tomorrow, we will officially be a month out from the November election. I know many of you have questions that still need to be answered. I hope to answer as many of them as I can between now and Election Day; and if you choose to send me to Congress I will continue working to answer those tough questions and provide leadership on those tough issues as your next U.S. Representative.
