Issue Position: Right to Contract for Employment

Issue Position

All individuals have the right to contract with others and to join (or refrain from joining) any organization that suits them. I strongly believe that individuals have the right to make contracts with each other about providing and receiving services and goods. This is a fundamental right that is protected by our US Constitution Article 1 section 10 where it speaks of, "No State shall…pass any…Law impairing the Obligation of contracts." The National Labor Relations Act should be reviewed in its entirety and amended, if not repealed, to return the Federal government to those functions specifically enumerated in the US Constitution article 1 section 8.
