Bentley Reacts To Latest Rasmussen Poll

Press Release

Date: Sept. 23, 2010

Dr. Robert Bentley, Republican candidate for Governor, holds a strong lead over his opponent heading into the final 40 days of the campaign. Bentley maintains a 20-point lead over his opponent according to a poll released Thursday. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state finds Bentley with 55% of the vote, while Democrat Ron Sparks draws 35% support. Just one percent prefers some other candidate, and eight percent are still undecided. "We are pleased with the results of this latest poll, but we know there's a lot of work still ahead. We are about 40 days away from the election. The only poll that matters is when the voters make their choice on November 2." Bentley said.

Dr. Bentley has spent the week campaigning in Shelby, Madison, Mobile and Blount counties and plans to make a campaign sweep through Enterprise, Troy and Clanton next week.

"I believe this poll shows how well Alabamians are responding to our positive message, and how they are really starting to see the differences between myself and my opponent. I am committed to bringing jobs to our state. I have a broad based plan to put Alabamians back to work. I am very much against the federal takeover of our health care system, and my opponent strongly supports the federal government's efforts to take control of health care for our citizens. We are two very different candidates."

The Rasmussen Reports poll also shows 69% of Alabama voters favor repeal of the national health care law. More details from today's poll can be found at www.robertbentley2010.com.
