Issue Position

Neil and his wife, Dr. Nancie Caraway, have a dog (Kanoa) and a cat (Che) that are dear members of their family. They are strong supporters of organizations that protect animal welfare and strengthen the bonds between people and animals. Neil often brings his dog to his campaign headquarters and he promises to have "a canine-friendly administration." Neil has zero tolerance for clear instances of animal cruelty. He also recognizes that there is a divide in our community over certain practices which some consider animal cruelty and others feel are deeply important to cultural heritage or protecting other species. In these instances, we must gather information, air differences, and make decisions that reflect the public interest while recognizing historic and cultural legacies.
