U.S. Sen. David Vitter today at a U.S. Senate Small Business Committee hearing expressed his astonishment at the Obama administration's handling of the moratorium. Specifically, Vitter was frustrated at an administration official's admission that no economic analysis of the moratorium's effects were conducted prior to the issuance of the moratorium.
"I'm astounded that the Obama administration conducted no economic analysis before making the decision to issue the moratorium. This reckless disregard for the economic well-being of the Gulf region is frankly inexcusable," said Vitter.
