Ensign Statement on 9/11 Anniversary

Statement

Date: Sept. 10, 2010
Location: Las Vegas, NV

Senator John Ensign today released the following statement on the anniversary of September 11, 2001:

"In the nine years since that fateful day, our country has gone through many changes. Our economy has taken a turn for the worse, industries and businesses across the nation have struggled and many have failed, and our country is fighting a war in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, what has not changed is that we continue to remember those who perished on 9/11, and we continue to support our servicemen and -women in harm's way.

"The freedoms that we enjoy as Americans still exist today because of the heroic men and women who have laid down their lives in their defense. It is our duty as American citizens to ensure that we support our troops. Without those who are willing to sacrifice life and limb to protect our freedoms, these very rights may one day become a distant memory."
