Mike Kelly's Statement on the 9th Anniversary of September 11th

Statement

"Today, we should all remember the dreadful day 9 years ago when so many of our fellow Americans lost their lives to a despicable act of islamo-fascist terrorism. If you can, please take a moment to read this column published by Leonard Pitts Jr. of the Miami Herald the day after the attacks. It's a sobering reminder of the mourning we did together as a country but also our nation's resolve immediately following the attacks. We face some huge challenges currently with jobs, the economy and national debt -- but nothing, I repeat nothing, is a higher priority for our nation then continuing to fight islamo-fascist extremism that still exists around the world. Additionally, and just as importantly, we need to take today to remember our brave men and women serving in our armed services and the law enforcement officers, firefighters and first responders who quietly but nobly put their lives on the line everyday to make the best country in the world a safe place to live."
