U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (D-NC) today commented in advance of the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Sen. Hagan said:
"On September 11, we reflect and honor the memories of our first responders who gave up their lives to protect others and the civilians who were murdered by terrorists. Ever since that fateful day, the men and women of our military, many of them from North Carolina, have been in pursuit of these terrorists. North Carolina troops are leading the charge to disrupt, dismantle and defeat al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
"On this National Day of Service and Remembrance, we must thank and support our first responders who protect our neighborhoods every day, and our troops as they continue to fight the terrorists abroad to protect us at home."
