Blog: My Labor Day Message

Statement

Date: Sept. 6, 2010
Issues: Labor Unions

This may be the toughest Labor Day many of us have faced in our lifetimes. Unemployment continues to rise, up again last month. Obama's Stimulus Plan (which Bob Etheridge supported enthusiastically) has failed. The deficit (and spending by Congress) is more out of control than ever. The Obama administration is even spending foreign aid (Bob Etheridge voted for) to build mosques in Moslem countries. And President Obama cut Medicare half a trillion dollars (a cut Bob Etheridge voted for) to pay for Obamacare.

Our country is in trouble and Obama and Pelosi (who Bob Etheridge votes with 97% of the time) have been leading us in the wrong direction -- but there is cause for hope. We have tried the Obama-Pelosi-Etheridge cure and it's failed and now across the country voters are rejecting the liberal ideology of more government, more spending and more taxes. Americans want to return to the values that made us strong.

We can't cure the damage Obama-nomics has done overnight but we can take a big step in the right direction on Election Day. Thank you for joining me in working to make our nation strong again.
