The Return of the Warmers

Statement

Date: Sept. 6, 2010

They were thoroughly discredited just last year in the international "Climategate" scandal. The United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and their pals from the East Anglia Climatic Research Unit in Great Britain were caught red-handed, through their own email communications, to have intentionally falsified the scientific data on which they claim that human activity is a leading cause of global warming. Further, they were found to have hidden their own research results that showed world temperature not rising, but actually falling over the past several years.

The truth they tried to conceal from the world is that global temperature fluctuations are a normal earth cycle. We may or may not even be in a warming cycle. Even if we are, scientific evidence does not conclude that activity by man plays any significant role.

The reason for the lies is because the goal of these people is not to protect the environment, it is to implement a socialistic one-world government that has dictatorial control over every human activity, led by tyrannical liberal elites.

Global warming is simply a chicken-little scheme to use mass media and government propaganda to convince the world that destruction of individual liberties and national sovereignty is necessary to save mankind, and that the unwashed masses would destroy themselves without the enlightened global dictatorship of these frauds.

We do face a global threat. But it is not global warming, it is global tyranny from this crowd of liars -- the Warmers.

For a few wonderful months, they were forced into retreat by the sunshine of truth, as their decades-long fraud was displayed to the world. Their U.S. agenda to pass an economically-devastating package of regulations and taxes known as the "Cap and Tax" energy bill was at a standstill.

Then came the Gulf oil spill. And in tune with the philosophy of White House Chief of Staff Rahm "never let a crisis go to waste," Emmanuel, the Warmers are back with a vengeance.

2010 began with a renewed U.S. interest in expanding clean and safe nuclear power, and offshore drilling. Now the Warmers are using the tragedy in the Gulf as an attempt to ban all new drilling.

Once again, the truth is a different story. A prime reason behind the growth of deepwater offshore drilling is that so much new land-based drilling has been blocked by the Warmers, forcing us into deepwater oil exploration to begin with.

Instead of blocking offshore drilling, we should be removing the restrictions on land-based drilling in the continental United States and Alaska -- which the Warmers adamantly oppose, environmental advantages be damned.

Remember, it's not about the environment with the Warmers, it's about control.

So President Obama has used the disaster to call again for passage of the failed Cap and Tax energy bill, that even he has said will cause consumer energy prices to "soar".

The President has also tried to illegally block new oil exploration in the Gulf, even though his own science board has stated those efforts pose no additional environmental risk.

Fortunately, the federal court has overturned the Administration's unilateral moratorium on new drilling, and the judge has refused to be intimidated into reversing the decision, in spite of the fact the Warmers are attempting to personally discredit him in the case over the fact he owns oil company stock.

If we are to discuss investments, we should also discuss former Vice President Al Gore's hundreds of millions in profits for the international cap and tax schemes he has succeeded in imposing on nations around the world since leaving office.

In practice, this combination of taxes, fees, regulations, and new "green energy" plans have utterly failed everywhere they have been attempted. Spain was the first major nation to implement the scheme, and has experienced 20% unemployment and sky-high consumer electric bills, without any reduction in carbon emissions.

While President Obama continues painting a rosy scenario of new "green energy" jobs, the facts in Spain show that for every new "green energy" job created, 2.2 existing jobs were lost as a direct result -- without any reduction in carbon emissions.

Remember, it's not about the environment.

Whereas the Warmers had pushed their scheme under the guise of fraudulent global warming, now they attempt to resuscitate the scam with the argument that we must stop using oil to avoid tragedies like the gulf spill.

There are real environmental improvements that need to be made in America and worldwide. Common sense bipartisan efforts that rely on reliable and replicable scientific data can produce safer energy exploration and production, better air and water quality, greater energy efficiency, new jobs, lower costs for consumers, and American energy independence from imported oil.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) needs to immediately allow passage of the Oil Spill Response and Assistance Act by Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), which requires the Department of Energy to have all the technology and equipment in place in advance within two years to deal with any future oil spills from deepwater operations, ports, or vessels. Those measures include ready-to-deploy caps to immediately seal deepwater wells, flameproof booms that will work in heavy seas, remote submersibles capable of welding and cutting down to 15,000-foot depths, and a massive increase in liability limits on oil companies.

The Speaker should also allow immediate passage of the Jones Act Waiver Act that I introduced this month to allow all foreign vessels that have volunteered to help fight the leak and cleanup the oil to do so right now without any further bureaucratic delays.

We need to start drilling again for the vast reserves of oil and natural gas in the United States, including Alaska. Startling discoveries in just the past few years indicate we currently sit on land-based oil reserves as large as those in the Middle East, if we will just start developing them.

Every form of alternate energy should be researched and developed to the fullest extent possible, including solar, wind, tidal, and geothermal sources. We should encourage continued development of hybrid, natural gas, and total electric vehicles.

We don't have to raise taxes or electric bills to do any of this. We don't have to pass punitive new regulations on homes or businesses. We don't have to kill hundreds of thousands of oil or coal industry jobs.

We don't have to take anybody's freedoms, or sacrifice one whit of U.S. sovereignty to any global entity to achieve these improvements for our environment or economy.

All of which is why the Warmers have fought against every one of these common-sense solutions for decades.

The Warmers are back. We have a fight on our hands. Our freedom and independence is at stake. Truth is our best weapon, and we need to make sure every American voter has an ample supply by November.
