Press Release

Date: Aug. 19, 2010
Location: West Linn, OR

With the endorsements of the Oregon Farm Bureau, Oregonians for Food and Shelter, AG-PAC, and the Marion County Farm Bureau, State Rep. Scott Bruun conti nues to receive support from Oregon's agriculture and natural resource sectors.

"I am grateful for the support of Oregon's agriculture and natural resource sectors, and I am proud to join these businessmen and women in the renewal of our nation," Bruun stated. "Oregon's economy is dependent on the success of our farmers, ranchers, and small business owners, and I am committed to fighting for pro-jobs policies that will strengthen our rural communities and allow these hard-working Oregonians to thrive."

Bruun is running for the seat currently held by first-term Democrat Congressman Kurt Schrader. Despite being a member of the House Agriculture Committee, Schrader has seen his support from the agricultural community erode during his first term in office. In 2008, he enjoyed the support of the Oregon Farm Bureau, yet has been unsuccessful in obtaining agriculture and natural resource support in this year's cycle.

Scott Bruun is a businessman and three-term Oregon legislator. Bruun and his wife of 16 years, Alison, have two young daughters and live in Clackamas County. They are active in local charitable, sports and church activities.
