Hands out Stuffed Book Bags at Baptist Church of Okeola

Joe said today that more must be done to give our children the strong and comprehensive education they deserve as he helped hand out donated book bags stuffed with school supplies to local school children.

"In just a few short weeks, our children will begin another year of learning," Joe said at the First Baptist Church of Okeola. "As parents, teachers and leaders, we must work together to ensure our children and fellow citizens are prepared with the right tools to meet the challenges the future workforce will face."

Five hundred stuffed book bags are expected to be given away to young parishioners of the Church and local-area youth.

A member of the House Education and Labor Committee, Admiral Sestak believes we must dedicate ourselves to improving our nation's schools and continuing our efforts to make college more affordable and accessible.

He has hosted summits in his District on Early Education, Advanced Workforce Training and No Child Left Behind, and championed efforts to support a skilled and competitive workforce that will lead America into the 21st Century.
