Creating and keeping jobs is more important now than ever before. My goal while being a member of the Michigan House has been to not only assist individual job providers and companies navigate State Government, but more importantly to help create a self-sustaining climate for prosperity and economic growth. This is why I am a supporter of tax cuts, tax credits and creating an overall business friendly climate. This is why when Ryder, Inc came to me in my first term and needed help with a tax abatement that the local township already agreed to, but was prevented from giving to them, I went right to work. House Bill 4915 became Public Act 115 of 2005 to provide an incentive for Ryder to locate here which provided over 750 jobs total.
