Ensign: Unemployment Will Continue To Soar Unless We Put A Stop To Massive Government Spending

Senator John Ensign today commented on the latest jobs report and the continuing rise in unemployment rates.

"The staggering increase in unemployed Americans directly reflects what's not working in Washington. Democrats are blindly passing legislation full of wasteful government spending, all the while promising the American people that thousands of new jobs will be created. Unfortunately, the fact is that more Americans are losing their jobs and it's time that we say, enough is enough.

"Nevada is suffering through the highest unemployment rate in the nation, and our 14.2% rate will continue to increase unless we put a stop to these government spending sprees. Instead of increasing the debt and throwing more taxpayer money at the problem, we need to focus on the private sector, specifically small business. Unfortunately, until Democrats realize this, the unemployment rate will continue to sputter through highs and lows."
