Issue Position

It is imperative that we focus on job creation and I believe that private industry jobs are the answer. I intend to fight to attract businesses from states with high tax burdens, like those in neighboring California. As an additional attraction to potential new businesses, we should consider forgiving business fees for transplant businesses that move to Nevada, stay in Nevada and give jobs to Nevadans. Further, by extending the statute of limitations for paying off big infrastructure projects, there would be more opportunity for additional capital improvement projects. Privatization is essential and public private partnerships should be introduced and fostered within our state. More accesible loans for small businesses and expanding the definition of "small business" would allow entities who provide jobs to Nevadans are able to receive the same benefits as their larger counterparts. Tax incentives for businesses hiring unemployed Nevadans would ensure a net savings from ongoing unemployment deficit spending as well as allow Nevadans to provide for their families.
