Rep. Loretta Sanchez Applauds President Obama for Signing Bill to Rein in Wall Street, Protect Consumers

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47), a member of the bipartisan, bicameral Joint Economic Committee, today issued the following statement after President Obama signed the sweeping Wall Street reform package into law:

"Our financial system only works when there are clear rules and basic safeguards that prevent greed, fraud, and abuse. Wall Street reform demands accountability and responsibility from everyone and, in turn, provides certainty to everyone. From now on, every American in my community and across the country will be empowered with the information they need to make the financial decisions that are best for them. These are the kinds of common-sense reforms that will protect consumers and our economy for the long-term."
