Suggest that school corporations work through the State's Department of Administration to purchase most goods and services. This will save taxpayers millions of dollars by using the state's buying power to negotiate the lowest possible price for everything from office supplies to fuel to computers. Providers and vendors would have the option to participate at state pricing levels. Our community is fortunate to have the many educational opportunities available. From pre-kindergarten to post graduate degrees, we have it here. We need to continue to find ways to make education affordable for those who are dedicated to the pursuit. We need more volunteers to come forward and help with mentoring and school operations. We need to help those who choose alternate pathways to traditional schools. Cooperation and working together can do wonders. Improved performance in the classroom is a must. Good jobs come when there is an educated workforce, willing to work.
