I am concerned about job losses in Indiana. We must combat the trend and regain the confidence of business leaders that are enticed to move jobs beyond Indiana's borders.

To stimulate economic growth, businesses need incentives to invest capital in our State. High taxes, an untrained workforce, and bureaucratic corruption deter business. I know to promote economic stimulus by curtailing government spending is counter intuitive to some, but business leaders look at spending levels per capita when selecting sites.. I have the career experience with Indiana tax laws, prior to my work in legislation, to make the hard decisions intelligently. My appointments to Tax and Fiscal, Commerce, Insurance and Banking, and Pensions and Labor committees are all indicative of my strong background in economic issues. Working with my employer with locations throughout the Midwest has taught me how imperative the need to create tax policy that is not out of line with business objectives. Tax policy can turn away investment and stifle growth.
