Issue Position: The Constitution

Issue Position

By the grace of God, and with your support, I am going to be elected to serve as the next Congressman from the 7th District of Georgia, and when I am sworn into office as your next Congressman, I will take this oath as prescribed by the Sixth Article of the Constitution.

"I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

Every Member of Congress will take the same oath. The difference in me and many others is that I will mean every word of that oath.

When our Founders convened at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, they crafted, I believe with God's help, the most brilliant governing document in the history of humanity.

It begins with the words, "We the People," not we the government.

The Constitution is a charter of individual liberty for the American people, and it is magnificent in its limiting the scope and power of the federal government.

The politicians in Washington have abandoned loyalty to the Constitution. Our country is in deep trouble today because the federal government is involved in so many things for which it has no constitutional authority.

The liberal judges are not only legislating from the bench, but they are in effect amending the Constitution.

My friends, it is time that "We the People" reclaim our Constitution and our government.

Lincoln said, "We the people are the rightful masters of both the Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution."

The Constitution is not an evolving, living, organic document. The living document theory is designed to subvert the clear words of the Constitution, allowing liberals to pursue their political and social agenda.
If they can subvert the Constitution, then they are free to re-make America according their vision. That means more powerful federal government and less individual liberty. Please join me restoring loyalty to the Constitution, reclaiming our country, and preserving our liberty.
