"We hold these truths to be self-evident," wrote Thomas Jefferson in our Declaration of Independence, "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness . . ."

Life is truly a gift from God. And it is the most fundamental of all human rights.

Life begins at fertilization. I will sponsor legislation to confer constitutional protection upon unborn babies and to protect life until natural death.

I also favor a Human Life Amendment to our Constitution.

Since the U.S. Supreme Court decisions of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton in 1973 unleashed the horror of abortion-on-demand upon our nation, over 50,000,000 innocent little unborn boys and girls have been killed by abortion.

This really is the "slaughter of the innocents" and it simply must be stopped.

For the sake of the little ones, for the sake of the women who are exploited by the abortion industry, and for the sake of our nation, we simply must stop the killing.

You can count on me to be a Congressman who will passionately defend human life.
