Kansas Soybean Group

Statement

Date: June 22, 2010

Summer has not slowed down in Washington, and I enjoyed the chance today to sit down with members of the Kansas Soybean Commission and the National Biodiesel Board.

We discussed the current state of the biodiesel industry and the many issues before Congress relating to biodiesel.

Thanks to Harold Kraus, National Biodiesel Board Member and Kansas Soybean Commissioner from Hays; Bob Henry, ASA Board Member from Robinson; Chris Billinger, Kansas Soybean Commission Intern from WaKeeney, Dennis Hupe, Director of Field Services for the Kansas Soybean Commission, and Matthew Jaeger, president of Emergent Green Energy, a biodiesel production facility in Minneola for stopping by my office today to update me on important issues facing Kansas agriculture and energy.
