Congressman Jim Cooper (TN-05) presented a slideshow to the Nashville Downtown Rotary today calling for Congressional hearings on decisions made by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the days and weeks prior to the historic flooding.
Cooper's initial analysis, taken from material available publicly on the Corps' website, indicates further examination is needed.
"This is not a blame game," said Cooper. "But, like Sen. Alexander has said, there should be an investigation into what could have been done differently. Congress may conclude that the Corps acted appropriately, but we have reason to proceed with a deeper inquiry."
