today released the following statement in response to President Obama's remarks on Wall Street reform in Quincy, a city in his Congressional District.
"The President is absolutely right--we cannot afford to wait any longer to enact Wall Street reform. The reckless decisions of some on Wall Street pushed our economy to the brink of a second Great Depression. It robbed millions of working families of their savings and retirement. It cost our nation 8 million jobs. Worst of all, those who put our economy at risk were rewarded with bonuses and golden parachutes. Never again. We must put Wall Street referees back on the field and adopt common sense rules that protect consumers from predatory behavior. The President was elected to achieve such reform and he has my full support."
