Q: Illinois is struggling to balance its budget this year and may face a $12 billion deficit in 2010-11. Do you support an income tax increase? At what rates would you set the income tax for individuals and for corporations?
A: I do not support an income tax increase. The rates should remain the same (3% for individuals, 4.8% for corporations) with the exception that I would push for tax reductions or rebates for businesses that create new jobs or that relocate to Illinois.
