Parents must have choices in the education of their children. Government should not dictate where our children are educated. The cap on the number of charter schools should be lifted. The results would be twofold -- more personal attention to the educational needs of each child and lower demand for classroom space at our public schools.
Education choices must also be available for those parents who wish to provide a faith-based or home school environment for their children.
There is a strong choice movement in the state of North Carolina and one source of solid information is the North Carolina Education Alliance (www.nceducationalliance.org).
