Today, Congressman J. Gresham Barrett (SC-03) cosponsored legislation that, if passed, will repeal the Senate-passed health care bill and its reconciliation bill. After signing on as a cosponsor, Barrett made the following remarks:
"While the President and Democrat leaders cheer for their health care victory, the American people are crying out for liberty. The Democrats turned a deaf ear to the overwhelming voice of opposition that is echoing across our country. They ignored the will of the people and voted to raise taxes, kill job creation and move our nation a step closer to socialism. As conservatives, we must do everything we can to ensure this colossal mistake by Congress is corrected. That is why I am proud to cosponsor legislation that calls on Congress to repeal this so-called health care bill."
