Location: Grantsburg, WI

Seventh District Congressman Dave Obey (D-WI) was in Grantsburg today to be briefed on how McNally Industries is using $1.6 million in federal funding Obey obtained last year for the company to re-engineer parts for the U.S. military.

McNally Industries re-engineers problem parts and reduces the weight of component parts for Army and Marine helicopters and missile systems, Marine surface equipment and shipboard equipment. For example, McNally has re-engineered Kiowa Warrior Helicopter flight control parts to make them lighter and longer lasting.

"It is imperative that our troops deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq have light, dependable and effective equipment. McNally's work not only enhances the capabilities and safety of our armed forces but also provides a good source of jobs in the region," Obey said.

Since 1942, McNally Industries has served the U.S. Department of Defense and contractors with precision components and mechanical systems for defense and aerospace applications. McNally is a full service manufacturer providing product design and testing.
