Chairman Kerry Statement On Greece's Acceptance Into The Visa Waiver Program

Today, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-MA) issued the following statement after the Department of Homeland Security announced that Greece will become a member of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). The VWP will result in greater passenger information sharing and ensure stricter security standards while making it easier for Greek citizens to obtain visas for travel to the United States.

"I'm delighted that all of the obstacles to Greece's participation in the visa waiver program have been overcome. This means better information-sharing, smarter security, and good news for the many families in Massachusetts and throughout our country whose Greek relatives can now come visit with greater ease."
