Afghanistan Resolution Undermines Our Troops

Statement

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement regarding the House's consideration of a resolution instructing President Obama to begin pulling U.S. troops out of Afghanistan.

"At this very moment, our troops are fighting to ensure that Afghanistan does not again become a haven for terrorists who seek to attack America," said Congressman Price. "This resolution undermines our troops and emboldens terrorist groups like Al Qaeda, who have long believed we lack the resolve needed to defeat them. That Congress would even consider this irresponsible resolution illustrates House Democrat leaders' disconnection from the early gains being seen on the ground. Instead of working to address the economy and give wary employers confidence in the future, they've prioritized legislation that demoralizes our troops and gives confidence to our enemies."
