Stabenow: Despite Republican Delays, Senate Approves 30-Day Extension of Unemployment, COBRA Benefits

Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) made the following statement after the Senate agreed on a short-term 30 day extension of unemployment benefits, COBRA benefits, and other important expiring provisions.

"After an irresponsible delay by Senate Republicans, I am pleased the Senate extended unemployment and COBRA benefits by 30 days. However, we must extend these emergency benefits through the end of the year. Michigan families continue to struggle to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. We need to fully understand the economic disaster confronting too many American families--and take action just as we would if there was a hurricane, a flood, or any other natural disaster."
